Data Use Agreement (DUA)ΒΆ
Warning
As an open research resource, the Hoffman2 Cluster is NOT intended to process protected data of any kind. Protected data fall under classifications and labels such as:
Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Protected Health Information (PHI)
HIPAA-protected data
University of California Policy BFB-IS-3 Protection Level 3 or 4 (P3 or P4) data

Important
Fully de-identified data that cannot be re-identified with additional data sets stored on the Hoffman2 Cluster are generally acceptable for storage and computation on the cluster.
Hoffman2 Cluster compliance with NIST 800-171 Rev 3 is currently pending.
Due to the nature of the Hoffman2 Cluster, data are not encrypted in flight or at rest. PIs who intend to store Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) on the cluster should request to have their project directory located on an encrypted filesystem.
Hoffman2 Faculty Sponsors (that is any UCLA personnel who qualifies under UCLA Policy 900 as a principal investigator and who has requested to become a Hoffman2 Cluster Faculty Sponsor) are responsible for complying with Data Use Agreement (DUA) terms for any data sets they use on the Hoffman2 Cluster.
