Data use agreementΒΆ
As an open research resource, the Hoffman2 Cluster is not intended to process protected data of any kind. Protected data fall under classifications and labels such as: Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Protected Health Information (PHI), HIPAA-protected data, and University of California Policy BFB-IS-3 Protection Level 3 or 4 (P3 or P4) data.
Fully de-identified data - that cannot be re-identified with additional data sets stored on the Hoffman2 Cluster, are generally acceptable for storage and computation on the cluster.
Due to the nature of the Hoffman2 Cluster, data are not encrypted in flight or at rest.
Hoffman2 Faculty Sponsor (that is any UCLA personnel who qualifies under UCLA Policy 900 as a principal investigator and who has requested to become a Hoffman2 Cluster Facutly Sponsor) are responsible for complying with Data Use Agreement (DUA) terms for any data sets they use on the Hoffman2 Cluster.
