How to Run LONI Pipeline

lonilogoThe LONI Pipeline runs as a client on your local machine and a server on Hoffman2. After you start the LONI Pipeline client, you will be able to connect to the Hoffman2 server using your Hoffman2 login ID and Hoffman2 login password.

Create a LONI account

You need a LONI account in order to download the LONI Pipeline client. To create a LONI account, point your browser at http://pipeline.loni.ucla.edu

  • In the navigation bar near the top of the page, under the Download tab, click LONI Pipeline Software.
  • In the “Pipeline Downloads for End Users (Client)” section at the top of the page, click apply for a LONI account.
  • Fill in the Create New Account form and click the Register button.

dba@loni.ucla.edu will send you an email containg your temporary LONI password.

LONI Pipeline client software

To downoad the LONI Pipeline client software, point your browser at http://pipeline.loni.ucla.edu

  • In the navigation bar near the top of the page, under the Download tab, click LONI Pipeline Software.
  • In the “Pipeline Downloads for End Users (Client)” section at the top of the page, click Download LONI Pipeline Software.
  • On the LONI Login page, enter the email address you supplied on your LONI account application and your LONI password.

Install the LONI Pipeline client on your local machine (not on the Hoffman2 Cluster!) following the instructions on the LONI downloads page.

How to start

Launch the LONI Pipeline client on your local machine. A window like the one in the screenshot below will appear.

To start a new connection:

  • Click the double red button (No Connections) in the bottom right corner of the window.
  • Click Connections. A new window will open.
  • Select New and press enter. A new window will appear.
  • Enter:

    Name: Hoffman2
    Server Address: loni.hoffman2.idre.ucla.edu
    Username: login_id

    where login_id is your Hoffman2 Cluster login ID.

  • Press Save

A new connection will appear in the Connections window with the name you have chosen, the loni.hoffman2.idre.edu server address and your login ID.

  • Select Hoffman2
  • Press the Connect button.
  • Authenticate with your Hoffman2 login password.

Now you are ready to create and run LONI Pipeline jobs on the Hoffman2 Cluster.
